GN Motor Sales “N” Rentals (Dealer #10734)

Issues:

  • A hearing was called to review the motor dealer licence of GN Motor Sales “N” Rentals for failing to provide the records requested pursuant to the Registrar’s Production Order contrary to sections 150 and 189(5) of the Business Practices and Consumer Protection Act.

Outcome:

  • No one appeared on behalf of GN Motor Sales “N” Rentals. The Registrar was satisfied GN Motor Sales “N” Rentals had received notice of the Hearing and continued the hearing pursuant to section 6(e) of the Motor Dealer Act and section 7(e) of the Salesperson Licensing Regulation.
  • The Registrar found that GN Motor Sales “N” Rentals failed to respond to the Production Order and ordered that the failure be reviewed for contempt proceedings before the BC Supreme Court.
  • The Registrar directed that no registration should be issued for GN Motor Sales “N” Rentals (their registration has lapsed) until further direction of the Registrar.
  • The Registrar adjourned the hearing sine die (generally) to allow the Authority to continue its investigation and reconvene the hearing if needed.
