COMPLAINANT: Vehicle Sales Authority of BC (“the Authority”)
LICENSEE(S): Karan Sharma
ALLEGATIONS:
The Authority alleges that Mr. Sharma breached provisions of the Motor Dealer Act (“MDA”) and the Motor Dealer Act Regulations and seeks the suspension or cancellation of Mr. Sharma’s salesperson license.
ORDER:
The Registrar found that Mr. Sharma contravened section 35(3)(a) of the MDA by supplying false or misleading information to a person acting under the MDA and section 33(2)(a) of the MDAR by failing to comply with conditions of his license. The Registrar ordered that Mr. Sharma’s salesperson license be suspended for a period of one (1) month and that he retake, at his own cost, and successfully complete the VSABC Salesperson Course within 90 days of the decision.
Mr. Sharma is also ordered to comply with the MDA and the regulations made thereunder and to reimburse the Registrar its actual costs, including actual legal costs incurred for its investigation of Mr. Sharma, the quantum of which is to be agreed upon by the parties or by further order of the Registrar.
