Complainant: ROBERT CARPENTER (07-70900), LOUISA EWERT (08-70019), KIM HOPE (08-70020), JEANIE DWYER (08-70036), JASON HORYCHUN (08-70162) and ERIC AMUNDSEN (08-70175)

Licensee/Unlicensed person:

JDM Wholesale Ltd.

Issues:

  • Consumers had prepaid in full for vehicles which were imported into B.C.
  • JDM failed to provide vehicles as agreed to these consumers.
  • Some vehicles were missing accessories as promised by JDM
  • Six consumers sought compensation from the Customer Compensation Fund, which were paid out.
  • Investigations and the costs to manage JDM were also to be paid from the Customer Compensation Fund.

Outcome:

  • JDM’s registration was cancelled and may not be re-registered until it reimburses the Compensation Fund.
