Issues:

  • Williams Auto Sales 2013 and Elizabeth Williams applied to be registered as a motor dealer. The purpose of the hearing was to propose denying or placing conditions on the Motor Dealer Licence application.
  • The areas of concern within the application were:
  1. The bankruptcy of Leroy Williams Auto Sales Ltd. of which Ms. Williams was an officer and manager of;
  2. Ms. Williams’ relationship with Leroy Williams, who was the owner of Leroy Williams Auto Sales Ltd.; and
  3. Financial viability of dealership.

Outcome:

  • The Registrar granted a motor dealer licence to Williams Auto Sales 2013 with the following conditions:
  1. No consignment permitted;
  2. Two to five demonstration plates; and
  3. To provide financial statements and inventory sales summary at 6 months and 12 months from the issuance of the motor dealer licence. This condition can be reviewed in one year.
