Licensee/Unlicensed person:

CANEM INVESTMENTS LTD. dba CANEM AUTO SALES/CANEM AUTO GROUP (BURNABY) (Dealer #10781) AND PRADEEP “PAUL” SINGH (Salesperson #12861)

Issues:

Consumer claimed dealer and salesperson did not declare damage over $2,000.00 – deceptive act.
Purchase agreement showed there was such a declaration.
Evidence also showed that the dealer informed the consumer of the extent of the damage.
Evidence showed inconsistencies in the consumer’s evidence and that he was in fact aware of damage prior to purchasing the vehicle.

Outcome:

The dealer and the salesperson were found to not have committed a deceptive act.
Claim against the dealer and salesperson were dismissed.
