VSA Industry Dealer Alert
September 10, 2022

Dealerships will not be able to Register Vehicles through Brokers on Sunday, September 11

In addition to the urgent Bulletin from NCDA sent yesterday, we are also sending this to assist you.

ICBC has passed along this update to BC dealerships about a full system outage happening this Sunday, September 11. During this outage, dealerships will not be able to register vehicles through the brokers.

ICBC is undergoing a planned outage this weekend to complete a software update of PolicyCenter, as their current version will soon be outdated. PolicyCenter is a web-based underwriting and policy administration system used by ICBC for vehicle registration, licencing and Insurance. This upgrade will have minimal impacts overall, however, it does require an extended system outage, which will affect the process of vehicle registrations. This email is to inform you of the details and timing so you can plan accordingly.

Planned PolicyCenter Outage

To ensure a smooth transition an extended system outage is required. PolicyCenter will be unavailable for a full business day on Sunday, September 11, 2022.

The system will be available again at the start of business day on Monday, September 12, 2022.

Outage Impacts

During the planned outage, auto dealers will not be able to register vehicles through the brokers. We suggest directing customers to another day to pick up their vehicles as registration will not be possible on September 11, 2022.
