In 2022, British Columbiaโs Minister of Public Safety and Solicitor General began engagement to inform potential updates to B.C.โs consumer protection laws for the modern marketplace.ย As part of the third phase of the review, the Ministry is now consulting industry stakeholders on proposed changes to the Motor Dealer Act.

Please note, this is not a public consultation, and the government has not yet committed to any specific resolutions or policy changes.ย Rather, the Ministry is interested in understanding the motor dealer industryโs perspective on potential changes the Ministry is exploring.ย This consultation is an opportunity for the industry to weigh in.
