Absolutely! Dealers and salespersons must be licensed by the VSA. You can check the VSA online licensee search to confirm.

👍 Your rights include:
- Access to information to make informed decisions
- Assurance that dealers and salespersons meet BC and Canada's legal requirements
- Expectations for clear and transparent transactions

🚗 Dealers must:
- Sell safe vehicles
- Disclose prior vehicle use
- Declare prior damages and odometer accuracy
- Provide clear and transparent sales practices

🔍 Wondering if you can make a complaint?
If a dealer or salesperson doesn't meet regulations, you can file a complaint with the VSA. They'll investigate and take necessary actions.

💼 If you've experienced a loss from a transaction with a licensed motor dealer no longer in business, you may be eligible for compensation from the Motor Dealer Customer Compensation Fund.

A 'curber' is a private seller in the business of selling vehicles without a license. A person who sells their own car is a private seller. This person is not a curber because selling cars is not their business.

Unlike licensed dealers, many curbers do not disclose the history of the vehicle. For example, curbers may sell stolen, rebuilt, or flood-damaged vehicles without disclosure. 💼
