What is the Vehicle Sales Authority

The Vehicle Sales Authority (VSA) is British Columbia’s Automotive Sales Regulator. We build public confidence in the motor dealer industry in BC by engaging and educating industry and consumers, and by ensuring a safe and reliable motor vehicle buying experience.

In fiscal year 2024 (April 1, 2023 – March 31, 2024), we dealt with 4,082 consumer enquiries, complaints and claims.

Questions or issues after a recent vehicle purchase? Try My Self-Help!

The VSA’s free and anonymous online tool, My Self-Help, is the best place to start. My Self-Help can help you to learn more and understand your legal rights. It can also help you understand the responsibilities of dealers.

Resolve your issue with Connector!

The VSA’s safe and secure online space to try and resolve your issue with a licensee such as a motor dealer, through online messaging. It’s an easy, convenient and informal “chat-like” type of online negotiation available 24/7.

The VSA recently wrapped up an appearance at the Vancouver International Auto Show from March 20-24th at the Vancouver Convention Centre. Over the course of the five-day event, we engaged with consumers to educate on their legal rights, the responsibilities of dealers, and how we’re here to help ensure a safe and reliable motor vehicle buying experience in British Columbia.
