What is the Vehicle Sales Authority

The Vehicle Sales Authority (VSA) is British Columbiaโ€™s Automotive Sales Regulator. We build public confidence in the motor dealer industry in BC by engaging and educating industry and consumers, and by ensuring a safe and reliable motor vehicle buying experience.

In fiscal year 2024 (April 1, 2023 โ€“ March 31, 2024), we dealt with 4,082 consumer enquiries, complaints and claims.

Questions or issues after a recent vehicle purchase? Try My Self-Help!

The VSA’s free and anonymous online tool, My Self-Help, is the best place to start. My Self-Help can help you to learn more and understand your legal rights. It can also help you understand the responsibilities of dealers.

Resolve your issue with Connector!

The VSAโ€™s safe and secure online space to try and resolve your issue with a licensee such as a motor dealer, through online messaging. It’s an easy, convenient and informal โ€œchat-likeโ€ type of online negotiation available 24/7.

The VSA recently wrapped up an appearance at the Vancouver International Auto Show from March 20-24th at the Vancouver Convention Centre. Over the course of the five-day event, we engaged with consumers to educate on their legal rights, the responsibilities of dealers, and how we’re here to help ensure a safe and reliable motor vehicle buying experience in British Columbia.
