The Vehicle Sales Authority (VSA) is here to oversee retail sales of personal-use motor vehicles by engaging and educating consumers and industry.
As the regulator for over 3,100 licensed businesses and over 9,000 licensed individuals, the VSA administers the Motor Dealer Act and provisions of the Business Practices and Consumer Protection Act.
Our primary mandate is to ensure a safe and reliable motor vehicle buying experience by consumers in British Columbia. This is achieved through compliance with applicable legislation, providing education to licensees, offering information and assistance, and addressing formal complaints. While we strive to resolve disputes and handle compensation claims, our broader mission encompasses a range of activities aimed at safeguarding consumer interests in the vehicle purchasing process.
